Our History
With over 60 years of operating experience and specialised expertise in offshore and marine oil field services, POSH SEMCO is the result of the merger and acquisition of several companies in the industry. Each of these companies comes with a rich heritage and solid reputation as pioneers and leaders in their respective fields of operation.
Our historical milestones of development are as follows:
1951 |
First came into being when Mr J J Rapen founded Salvage Engineering Limited |
1954 |
Salvage Engineering Limited was acquired by the Pan Electric Group of Companies and renamed SELCO |
1986 |
Acquired by Sembawang Maritime Ltd in April 1986, SELCO was renamed SEMCO Salvage & Marine Pte Ltd |
1999 |
Sembcorp Logistics Ltd acquired SEMCO Salvage & Marine Pte. Ltd. in March 1989 |
2001 |
PSA Marine Pte Ltd took full control of SEMCO Salvage & Marine Pte Ltd in March 2001 |
2007 |
SEMCO Salvage & Marine Pte Ltd was officially renamed as SEMCO Pte Ltd on 12 February 2007 |
SEMCO Pte Ltd was acquired by Pacific Carrier Limited, becoming its wholly-owned subsidiary on 8 August 2007 |

2008 |
On 1 March 2007, SEMCO Pte Ltd became one of the four divisions under the PACC Offshore Services Holdings (POSH) group of companies concentrating primarily on offshore production and deepwater support businesses, and becomes POSH SEMCO Pte Ltd |
2010 |
POSH SEMCO undergoes a restructuring in May 2010 to reorganise its businesses into five strategic divisions: Deepwater Services, Offshore Construction Support Services, EPIC Services, Harbour Services and Emergency Response |
From being a leading salvor and towage specialist since the 1950s, we have evolved into a global player within the offshore and marine industry, providing a comprehensive suite of vessels and services.
Today, we operate a young and diverse fleet that is regularly renewed, reflecting our capabilities and expertise.
